Interview Day!

So today is my Oral Board Interview at 2pm, extremely nervous but excited at the same time. It's a weird feeling being alone, 3k miles away from family and alone with your own thoughts. So I'm sitting at a table getting ready to eat some sort of food so that I dont pass out during the interview. It's really cool to be able to see all the fighter jets flying around, as well as the cessnas and supercubs. Well time to get cleaned up and suited up!

Wish me luck!

PT Test Passed, Ride Along Exciting

Finally, I get to lay down in my "two week" bed and be off my feet. This morning started off with a pt test, that I feel, was the hardest pt test I've taken. I was able to get back to the hostel and shave before I started making the hour drive to Matsu Valley West where I had a ride along with a trooper. To sum up the ride along, some shots were fired, DUI arrest, lady on bath salts spilling burning oil in herself and a guy trying to convince us he didn't try to force a girl in his car. I can't wait to be an Alaskan State Trooper!!

Along the way I picked up a friend to travel with me. I met him at my friend Fred Meyers cabin. So he will be joining me in some pictures!

Goodnight family! I love you!

PT Day

Last nights sunset wasn't until 11:37pm, and even when it was down, it wasn't dark. Twilight is a weird thing. I'm up early, eating oatmeal and getting ready to drop my suit off at the dry cleaners and then make my way over to the PT test for AST. I should fly through it, no sweat.

Hello Alaska!!

Well, I finally arrived to the big city of Anchorage! After dragging a 1 wheeled suitcase and the pain of renting a car for two days (now taking donations) I finally got to the Alaska Backpackers Inn and checked in, I've already met some Germans biking from Alaska to Argentina, as well as some Swiss mountain climbers, travelled to Costco and got me some delicious food.

I just wanted to thank the iPhone 4 and it's wonderful FaceTime technology because it's going to make this trip a lot easier as I've already talked to the kids and Carey face to face a few times.

Hello family! I miss you!

Family!

Its going to be a long two weeks without my family, but hopefully a chance to make their lives better will come of this trip.

Anchorage, here I come!

I'm flying into anchorage today to begin my 2 week journey into possibly becoming an Alaska State Trooper!
